WHAT: On Thursday, November 13, Basic.Space celebrated the opening of their IRL-to-URL private shopping experience, Basic.Space NY, at 575 Broadway, ahead of the retail experience’s weekend on November 14-16.
In the wake of their debut event in Los Angeles earlier this year, Basic.Space has landed in New York, filling over 20,000 square feet of the Soho venue with rare and collectible design, art, and fashion pieces and immersive installations. The shoppable retail experience features works from creators like Devon Turnbull, David Zwirner and Marcel Dzama, Max Lamb, Samuel Ross MBE, MSCHF, Laffanour | Galerie Downtown and Kris Van Assche, Eckhaus Latta, and many more. Attendees enjoyed an exclusive first look at the experience, hosted by Basic.Space founder and CEO Jesse Lee.
In partnership with MyPrize, the world’s fastest growing social casino, the VIP opening brought guests together in Basic.Space NY’s gaming lounge for a Casino Night, which remains open through the weekend. After an evening of blackjack and roulette over Absolut Vodka martinis and caviar, the night’s blackjack winner ultimately took home the grand prize, a rare 1970s transforming Cubo Game Table by Renato Meneghetti.
